Get your shine one!

I don't guess I have a lot to say about this other than it was unexpected?  We were at a table eating breakfast when we first arrived and this kid was sitting next to us, maybe 11 or 12, playing his gameboy (or whatever the kids have these days...probably mom's samsung galaxy or something).  Anyhoo, husbear started whisper talking to him.  You know what I mean when I say whisper talk right?  He's talking to the kid but really only wants me to hear.  "Hey kid, when did you get married?  Where was the honeymoon?  How did she propose?" etc etc.  As is typical, I gave him the pre-coffee glare that basically indicates whatever he thinks is currently funny won't be funny to me until another 16 ounces of black gold gets in my belly.  Buuuut, when I turned to see what he was talking about, I nearly spit said black gold out.

Here was this kid with what appeared to be an FREAKING HUGE engagement ring.  I, of course, had to take a picture on the sly and I know some will shudder that I would poke fun at a child but ya gotta admit,  seeing a rock (fake or otherwise) that size on a little boy is a wee bit funny right?  No?  Great - still a seat in hades for me I guess.  Anyway, here he is and for the faint of heart, I have given him the "Don'ts" black bar treatment.  Happy Monday!

When I die, bury me in shoes that sparkle

There are a lot of things I miss right now.  I miss my family, my friends, my dog, excessive cable channels, cooking, target, and the list goes on.  But I also miss being a girl.  My mom was kind enough to send my boots in the mail and I loove having the little splash of color out here in the desert but what I really miss, is being a freakin' girl.  And part of being a girl??? Flowery, colorful, ridiculously beautiful and extravagant....high heels!!!  I bought a phenomenal pair of Rene Caovilla's while we were in Vegas and I can NOT wait for an excuse to wear them.  So keep them safe dear mother in law and keep that daughter of yours at bay....cause I WILL BE BACK!!!!!!

Forgive the haphazard photo....we were in Vegas after all.   I couldn't be bothered to rebuckle (fine motor movement would have been required).  And I guess I couldn't take a moment to find a proper back drop....sigh...

But OHHHH!!!  They still sparkle
Rene Caovilla's shoes are seriously like a work of art.  If it's not the sparkly soles, it's the flowery and delicate adornments.
SO I say this....if I die, bury me in sparkly things.  And for goodness sake, if you cremate me...don't burn the shoes!!!!

You know what?!?

JEGGINGS ARE NOT OK!

Crap!  As I read that, I'm thinking to myself "Lindsey, did you or did you not purchase a dark blue pair of jeggings during one spending spree at Nordstrom Rack not too terribly long ago?"  Well fine!  Yes, yes I did!  Crap crap crappity crap!  Can I defend myself here?  I mean just a teensy bit?  I guess I have to if I am going to launch into why JEGGINGS are NOT ok!

See...it was winter(ish) and I was wearing a lot of leggings and skinny jeans with boots because it was the smart thing to do.  Snow was up to my kneecaps and I wasn't about to get my faboo jeans all wet and dirty.  So anyway, I didn't think these particular jeggings looked that much different than my skinny jeans (and honestly, they really don't) so I bought them along with some really unattractive pajamas (sorry honey).  The reason I don't wear the jeggings outside of the house, however, is not because I think they're obviously jeggings but because they give me a chronic case of plumbers butt.  I am not talking just when I bend way the hell over to pick something off the ground or when I squat to put Cassie's collar on.  No no...this is pretty much a you-better-be-wearing-a-super-long-shirt-or-your-buttcrack-will-be-on-display-for-God-and-everyone kinda sitcheeashun (that's situation for all you yankees).   As such, my jeggings have never seen the light of day - hallelujah!

Anyway, that's my jeggings story and I'm sticking to it.  Perhaps I will get industrious and post a pic of the pair in question and you can judge for yourself how craptastic my taste was on that day at The Rack.

What was the effing point?!?  Oh!  I hate Jeggings!  I mean, really...how lazy are we???  Just choose for goodness sake.  Jeans or leggings?  They're both comfortable so I don't see what the problem is.  Wait, strike that.  I DO see what the problem is.  The problem is that a lot of Jeggings look like this:

Theese are perhaps my least favorite: faded, acid-washed JEGGINGS! What a comedy of errors and really, WTF Whitney Port??

Do yourself a favor and check out this clip from Conan show where he dons the fantastic man jeggings pictured above.

And just so you know, I'm not the only one who feels this way.  I googled "ugly jeggings" and this was the first thing that came up:  Lovelyish: The 7 Ugliest Jeggings I've Ever Seen.  It's worth a gander.  I especially like the ones with built in legwarmers.  Legit.
