A day in the life of my google search box...

...in case "they" are watching.

Given the recent deluge of news on wire tapping, cyber spying and general whining about privacy violations, I thought it might be interesting (to no one but me probably) to see just what my google search and general interwebs browsing behavior reveals about my personal habits.

So, here's my morning so far...with explanations, where available:

  • Blogger: Simple Pleasures in a Complex World - edit post (probably some lame misspelling that I desperately hope no one noticed before)
  • Facebook
  • Facebook
  • Facebook
  • Blogger
  • Google log in
  • Facebook
  • Facebook
  • Blogger: Moments of Lucidity (commenting on Donna's post about a man getting beat up by a toddler) Check it out: Moments of Lucidity
  • Blogger: Simple Pleasures (yep - still no one has commented or probably even read my last post)
  • Facebook stalking times a million
  • Blogger: Hollywood: Where HOT Comes to Die (I have no shame.  She's hilarious. Don't believe me?  See for yourself -- Hollywood: Where HOT comes to die)
  • Blogger stalking times 12 (I think I just went down the list of blog links on Hollywood's site to see if there were any I could steal.  I can't even be bothered to search for cool blogs on my own...)
  • Blogger: Simple Pleasures (Layout and Template edits - because maybe if I put this widget before that widget, someone will visit me!?!?!)
  • Minutes of Mayhem: Things they've learned by spying on you (dammit!  now you all know where I stole the idea for this post from.  Not to mention, I found this website by trolling Hollywood's Blog links.  My creativity points for the day have plummeted.)
  • Minutes of Mayhem: Justin Bieber's Penis (Um....I have no excuse.  It was just there....and I am forever scarred.  What has been seen cannot be unseen.)
  • Facebook times 6 (all daddy well wishing stuff.  Let's not even try and figure out how this came right after the Beeb's penis.  I already think I am going to need counseling after this sharefest.)
  • Amazon - The shopping cart that will never die.  I have been working on this order for two weeks.  Will I ever see my Kashi Go Lean and heather gray leggings??? Probably not.
  • Google Search : Interview questions for household help (don't judge me...everyone in the Phils hires help) This is also where I went away from the wide world of interwebs and was productive for probably a record 45 min stretch.  Yes...you should be impressed.
  • Google News - wha?!?!?  How'd this get here???
  • Treat tote bag review- another hold up on the Amazon order because apparently I HAVE to have the perfect training treat bag and cannot waste $5 on something sub par so down the rabbit hole of reviews I went.
  • Facebook - cute pic of a dog on a couch...must.comment.now
  • Google News
  • Google Search - Wuthering Heights (only because the horrible 2011 movie version was on tv)
  • Minutes of Mayhem:  yeah...back to the Beeb's penis.  I don't know why.  Can I claim the tab was still open???
  • Star Movies - to confirm that Piranha 3DD is, in fact, on in an hour (IT IS!)
  • Simple Pleasures - edit post (this one!)
  • Google news - but only to find an article about cyber spying so I can grab another word for....cyber spying.
  • Minutes of Mayhem: Things they've learned by spying on you.  Ok Ok, here it is:  Things they've learned by spying on you  If you'll please please please click that link, you'll start to understand my Bieber...problem.  It wasn't my fault!   It was just there!

AWOL

These last few days have left me with much to blog about.  From birthdays and The Christmas Story to La Mer (wahoo!) and Antoine Dodson butterflies;  I don't think there has ever been a series of days so rife with material!  Unfortunately, I will be out of town starting this Sunday and then we're moving halfway across the world.  Heck, in this case, it's WHOLEway across the world!  Regardless, I don't know how much I'll be able to blog about all of my Simple Pleasures but never fear, you know me, I have a list of all of the things I want to tell you my pretties!  I WILL get to them all!

I will be AWOL off and on for at least 3 weeks (sigh sigh sigh).  In the meantime, please enjoy a different kind of AWOL:

Alcohol without Liquid (AWOL)

er...what you say???

That's right, if you feel drinking your booze is just too much work, you too, can own your own alcohol vaporizer.  Jury is still out on the health considerations but hey, don't worry, you probably won't feel any more pain.  Not because you'll be drunk off the vapors but because you will have gotten your ass beat by other party goers for being so lame and any additional pain would just pale in comparison.  I double dog dare you to whip out your AWOL in a normal setting.   Hell, I think I'd kick your ass.  That or I'd take your picture and make you the subject of a Rant.

But because I'm a fan of your right to choose whether to be a turd or not, here's the link so you can buy your very own AWOL vaporizer thingy majiggy.

Think they'll start selling them at Wal-Mart soon??  Is it me or does it look like a cross between a wacky tobaccy pipe and a er....instrument to boost certain body parts??  So gross.

"I've been looking so long at these pictures of you...

...that I almost believe that they're real." Ah yes, nothing like old school The Cure to start your Friday morning.

I thought loving but dreary was the way to go considering what you're about to read.  Now, off you go....

Yesterday afternoon, I came home to not one but TWO Rue La La packages on my front step!  Try to contain your excitement for me; I know it's difficult.  The first thing that crossed my mine was, "YAY!"  The second thing that crossed my mind was that perhaps I shop online a bit more frequently than I thought because I really had no idea what was in these boxes.

That's either a bad thing or it's like Christmas, you decide.

So there they were, gleaming in the uncharacteristically cool afternoon:

Ok, so maybe by this point they were gleaming on my kitchen counter but that's beside the point

And the contents???  Oh..how fun!  I totally forgot I ordered this lovely Michael Kors number.  What I really liked about the shipment was that the dress wasn't shrink wrapped in some crappy plastic.  It was hung neatly on a hanger and placed delicately in the box.  Not a wrinkle on the thing.  Ready to wear, as they say! :)

Michael Kors Safari Dress

Quality designers put thought and structure into the details.  I love that this belt was not flimsy and fit the dress (and me) perfectly!

Dark wash J Brand jeans
Guess I took this one in case you thought I was lying

All in all, a pretty good score; especially when you consider how deep the discounts are on Rue La La.  By the way, if you haven't created an account from them, you really should.  It's a great site; very user friendly and I've bought everything from mixing bowls to running shoes to designer duds...most at a deep deep discount.

By now, you're probably wondering why any of this is "bitter" anything.  Well, so far, all was well and then I went to turn my camera on to look at the photos and this happened to my screen:
What the holy hell is that?!?!  A poltergeist camera, that's what!

And by "happened" I mean it really happened.  It wasn't as if I turned it on and the screen was immediately crap.  I actually watched the last photo disintegrate into crap slowly.  I tried everything I could think of.  Removing the SD card, removing the batteries, replacing the batteries, turning if off/on, plugging it into the computer, etc etc.  Nothing seemed to work.  I guess it just figures that I'd start a new hobby that pretty much required a camera and my camera would go kaput.  It's not like it's a huge deal.  It wasn't a terribly expensive camera and we've had it for a while but still...

So I'm taking suggestions if you have any for good blogging cameras...or good overall cameras.  It will need to be portable and sturdy because I am, in fact, portable and sturdy...but also clumsy and prone to losing things :)

Other than that wee little mishap, TGIF kiddies!
